Devin McLaughlin Arrested after Hit-and-Run on California Avenue [Ridgecrest, CA]

22-Year-Old Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested Following Traffic Collision on Sunland Street

RIDGECREST, CA (May 25, 2021) – Devin McLaughlin was arrested Thursday night after a hit-and-run crash on California Avenue.

The incident occurred on May 13 shortly after 8:00 p.m., at the intersection of California Avenue and Sunland Street.

According to police, McLaughlin was involved in a two-car crash at the intersection. Following the impact, the driver fled the scene.

When police arrived, they spoke with the victim, who told them about McLaughlin’s appearance and injuries.

After a few moments, 22-year-old McLaughlin called police to report that his car had been stolen and was involved in an accident. His claims, however, resulted in his arrest.

McLaughlin is currently being held at the Central Receiving Facility on multiple charges, including DUI and hit-and-run.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the police.
