Deadly Hit-and-Run Accident Kills Woman on El Camino Avenue in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 19, 2021) – Saturday night, a woman was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run accident on Clay Street and El Camino Avenue.
According to Sacramento Police, the fatal incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., when a vehicle struck the woman in the intersection.
Afterward the impact, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.
Medical personnel along with firefighters responded at the scene and discovered a woman lying on the road. Due to the impact of the crash, the woman died at the scene despite the life-saving efforts conducted by the responders.
At this time, the police continue to withhold the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
The surrounding area on Clay Street was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the road has since reopened.
