Man Fatally Struck in San Diego Crash on Balboa Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 19, 2021) – A man was killed Sunday evening following a fatal crash on Balboa Avenue in the Clairemont Mesa West area of San Diego.
On May 16, just before 10:20 p.m., the accident occurred near Mount Everest Boulevard.
According to police, a 2016 Toyota Camry was driving east on Balboa Avenue when it collided with a northbound 2018 Honda on Mount Everest Boulevard.
As a result, the Honda’s driver, a man in his twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, medics discovered the other driver, a 29-year-old woman, and transported her to a hospital with critical injuries.
Officials stated that it is unknown whether speed, drugs, or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, an active investigation is still underway.
