27-Year-Old Man Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Woodbury Road
GARDEN GROVE, CA (May 11, 2021) – 27-year-old Pedro Vergara died Saturday night in a suspected DUI crash involving two vehicles on Woodbury Road.
The fatal accident happened just before 11:00 p.m., May 8, on Woodbury Road and Libby Lane.
According to officials, a white Nissan Titan was speeding eastbound on Woodbury Road when it rear-ended a black Toyota Camry stopped at the intersection.
Tragically, the driver of the Toyota died at the scene. Police identified him as 27-year-old Pedro Vergara.
Meanwhile, rescuers took his passenger to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect fled the scene but was later found and cops took him into custody on suspicion of DUI.
In addition, police evaluated the suspect, Mario Miguel Hernandez-Lopez, 38, after his arrest and believed he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Furthermore, a GoFundMe website for Vergara was made to help his family during this time.
