Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Street Sweeper on US 60 [Mesa, AZ]
Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Crash near Dobson Road in Mesa
MESA, AZ (May 4, 2021) – Early Tuesday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a street sweeper on US 60, near Dobson Road.
The collision happened just after 5:00 a.m., on the westbound lanes near Dobson Road. Emergency crews responded shortly after.
At this time, the events leading up to the deadly crash remain unclear. However, reports indicate that a pedestrian ran onto the road when they were struck by the street sweeper.
Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
The right lane of US 60 was closed with DPS collected evidence at the scene. But, the roadway has since reopened.
No further information has been provided to the public.
