2 Killed, Bianca Lopez Arrested after Deadly DUI Crash on 101 Freeway [Sherman Oaks, CA]
20-Year-Old Bianca Lopez Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash near Van Nuys Boulevard
SHERMAN OAKS, CA (April 26, 2021) – Bianca Lopez was arrested and two were killed after a fatal DUI accident on 101 Freeway, Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 12:10 a.m., on April 24. Emergency crews arrived on the eastbound side of 101 Freeway, shortly after.
Per reports, 20-year-old Bianca Lopez was driving a 2008 Honda near Van Nuys Boulevard when she rear-ended a 2019 Isuzu box-truck. Due to the impact of the crash, both vehicles were thrown into the westbound lanes after striking the center divider wall.
The box-truck was then struck by an oncoming 2017 Honda in the westbound lanes. Additionally, concrete debris from the wall struck a westbound 2016 Dodge.
A 40-year-old passenger inside the box-truck died at the scene. Rescuers also rushed a 15-year-old box-truck passenger to a Medical Center, where he later died.
At this time, authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased victims.
Meanwhile, the other three drives involved in the crash sustained minor to moderate injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
As for Bianca Lopez, she was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Authorities later arrested and detained her for DUI.
