Deadly Pedestrian Collision on Palm Avenue near 12th Street in Imperial Beach
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA (April 1, 2021) – Late Wednesday night, a pedestrian was killed in a fatal collision on Palm Avenue near Florida Street.
The crash happened around 10:50 p.m. Per reports, a man was crossing Palm Avenue near 12th Street when he was struck by a 2010 Dodge Challenger.
Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced the man dead on scene. In addition, the driver remained in the area and cooperated with the authorities.
Following preliminary investigations, officers ruled out intoxication as a factor in the crash. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway.
Palm Avenue was closed for a brief time during cleanup. But, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
At this time, police have not released the identities of either party involved in the collision. Although, more information will be released once available.
